YouTube video scheduler

YouTube is the one network here that will not accept a post without a title, and the one that asks for the most metadata around it. All of it is set before the upload rather than fixed afterwards in Studio.

What YouTube accepts

Checked before anything is sent, not after it fails.

Video, and only video

  • A title is required and the composer refuses to queue the post without one, because the API rejects it outright.
  • Shorts and regular videos are the same upload. YouTube decides from the length and the aspect ratio, and the composer lets you say which you meant so the outcome is not a surprise.
  • A mixed post is reduced to its video. Images have nowhere to go on this network.

The metadata YouTube wants

  • Privacy set to public, unlisted or private before it goes live.
  • A category and a spoken language, both from the platform's own lists rather than free text.
  • Search tags, entered without the hash prefix, because YouTube tags are keywords rather than hashtags.
  • The made-for-kids declaration and the synthetic-content disclosure, both of which are platform requirements rather than options.
  • Recording date, licence, embedding and public stats visibility, for the cases where the defaults are wrong.

What it does not do on YouTube

  • Video only. There is no image post on YouTube and the composer will not pretend there is.
  • No YouTube analytics here. Views and watch time live in YouTube Studio.
  • Thumbnails, end screens and cards are not set from here. They are Studio's job.
