Threads is close enough to Instagram that people assume the two behave identically, and far enough that a post built for one sometimes will not go to the other. The composer holds them apart.

What you can send
- Text on its own, a single image, a carousel or video.
- Two placements: the timeline, which takes any of those, and Reels, which takes video only.
- A caption limit far shorter than Instagram's, so a caption written for Instagram will usually need its own version here.
Alongside Instagram
- Both accounts sit in the same composer, so an announcement goes to both in one pass with a different caption on each.
- Per-account delivery status, because the two are separate publications even when they came from one post.
- The calendar shows both, which is the only way to see whether you are repeating yourself across the pair.
What it does not do on Threads
- No Threads analytics here. Profile reports cover Instagram and TikTok only.
- No Threads-only options, because the API exposes none.
- Replying into an existing thread is not supported. Each scheduled post is a new one.
