Pinterest scheduler

Pinterest is the only network here that will not accept a post without somewhere to put it. A pin needs a board, and the composer treats that as a required field rather than a detail to discover on failure.

What a pin needs

  • A board, picked from the ones on the connected account. When the connection does not expose them, the field accepts a board ID by hand instead of showing an empty picker.
  • One image or one video. Pinterest has no carousel here.
  • A pin title above the description, which is a separate field rather than the first line of the caption.
  • A destination link, which is the point of most pins and the thing a scheduling tool most often drops.

Built for tall media

  • Preferred aspect ratios are vertical, so media built for a square feed is cropped on purpose rather than by the platform.
  • The auto-crop step happens in the composer, where you can see the result, instead of after publishing.

What it does not do on Pinterest

  • One media item per pin. A set of images is a set of pins.
  • No Pinterest analytics here. Profile reports cover Instagram and TikTok only.
  • Idea pins are not supported. The publishing API covers standard pins.
